. NYMEX NG prices moving back up after hitting 5-week lows.

. FERC predicts Summer ’25 power demand will be 3.2% above 5-yr avg.

. July expected to see particularly strong demand.

. NYMEX Spot @ $3.39.  2025 Q1 avg spot @ $4.15, highest since 2022.

. Storage levels 6% above 5-yr avg.

. LNG Exports ramping back up after some maintenance is completion.

. The “experts” still believe spot prices to increase over the summer.

. FERC slashes red tape to speed up NG interstate and export projects.

. Storage injections continue to outpace last year and 5-yr averages.

CRUDE – A weakening US $ and concerns over Iran boost prices ever so slightly.

Prompt = $66.00, 2025 = $63.39, 2026 = $61.55, 2027 = $61.84.

POWER – Nat. Avg - Comm @ $0.1320/kWh. Resi @ $0.1700/kWh.

We’re seeing record highs in cost for both Resi and C&I sectors. This will continue until nuclear plants are ready to generate, 5 to 10 years out.

#CALIFORNIA POWER GEN SUPPLY @ 7AM, PST, 7-2-25:

NG 24%, RE 43%, Hydro 8%, Imports 17%, Nuke 8%, Battery 0%.

CAISO Real-Time Price Range = $22 to $40. Avg. = $32.

CAISO Day-Ahead Price Range = $32 to $55. Avg. = $44.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Great examples were seen yesterday of market movement – NY MEX plummets and Basis jumps up. One day later, switch it. Same as yesterday - More reason for us to buy NYMEX and Basis separately rather than rolling it up into a fixed price (NYMEX & Basis) and having to eat the premium attached to a rally on one of the 2 products.
